默默無聞的父親四十年如一日照顧癱瘓在床的妻子一輩子，本以為老伴離世后是一種解脫，沒想到自己面對的是無盡的孤獨與寂寞。兒子擔心父親一個人孤苦，將父親接到城里和自己同住，順便接送孫子上下學(xué)。一個屋檐下，不善言辭的老父親、為生活奔波的兒子、要兼顧家庭和工作的兒媳、需要照顧的孫子，三代人不同的生活習慣引發(fā)了不可避免的家庭矛盾，同時也展現(xiàn)了父親一生無盡的責任和愛。
