于無(wú)法融入喧囂吵鬧的大城市，平凡女孩市子（橋本愛(ài) 飾）選擇回到自幼生長(zhǎng)的老家——位于日本東北地區(qū)的小森村。這里沒(méi)有過(guò)多時(shí)尚文明的色彩，當(dāng)?shù)厝诉^(guò)著日出而作日落而息的傳統(tǒng)生活，他們靠天吃飯，靠著雙手經(jīng)營(yíng)人生。生活雖不富裕，心中則是滿滿的充實(shí)和歡喜。受媽媽（桐島かれん 飾） 影響，市子似乎對(duì)親手制作各種美味而廉價(jià)的料理有著格外濃厚的興趣。媽媽失蹤已經(jīng)很久，對(duì)料理的回憶與再現(xiàn)成為母女間別具特色的交流方式。更何況還有取自大自然的各種食材，又怎能暴殄天物浪費(fèi)了大好的韶光？在好友紀(jì)子（松岡茉優(yōu) 飾）和裕太（三浦貴大 飾）的陪伴下，市子靜靜地走過(guò)了春夏秋冬…… 本片根據(jù)漫畫(huà)家五十嵐大介的原作改編。
